Dr Michael Hyde

Dr Hyde is the Founder of Supersmile Orthodontics. He completed his Bachelors Degree in Dentistry in 1982 at the University of Sydney and spent 2 years in Westmead hospital as a staff dentist. He was invited to take up a post in the United Dental Hospital Orthodontic Department which he began in late 1984. In 1987 he commenced his Masters of Dental Science (Orthodontics) course at the University of Sydney. On completion of this course he moved to Canberra to practise with Dr David Thornton Taylor from November 1998.

While working he successfully completed the prestigious examination by the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in the Special Field of Orthodontics in 1991. He is one of only 7 orthodontists in the world with this qualification.

He is a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the Australian Dental Association,the European Orthodontic Society, and the World Federation of Orthodontists and a Certified member by examination of  the Australian Orthodontic Board, . He is also an International Member of the American Association of Orthodontists. He is a visiting clinical tutor and lecturer for the  Doctor of Philosophy Program at The University of Sydney where he trains the upcoming Specialist Orthodontists. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in the Special Field of Orthodontics. These activities keep him at the cutting edge of modern Orthodontics .

His focus is on clinical excellence and practices his profession in a fun filled, friendly atmosphere as he passionately believes that professionalism is not about being serious or aloof but rather defined by doing excellent work and treating his patients and staff exceptionally well.

Dr Ray Te Moananui

Dr Temo brings extensive experience in orthodontic treatment of both adults and children of all ages.

Dr. Temo gained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree(with credit) from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. Dr. Temo spent three years in Wellington, New Zealand working in both Hospital and private practice. He then returned to Dunedin to complete his Master of Orthodontics (with distinction) from the University of Otago. Dr Temo then went on to receive membership with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, and Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Dr. Temo is a member of many professional associations including the Australian Society of Orthodontists, Australian Dental Association.

A proud husband and father, Dr. Temo and his wife Monica have two beautiful young daughters and an adorable son. He is a keen sport person, who enjoys rugby union, touch rugby, basketball, surfing and skiing.

Dr Elise McConnell

Image of Dr Elise McConnell of Supersmile Orthodontist Dr McConnell obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree with First Class Honours from the University of Adelaide in 2011. She graduated with numerous University Awards, including the Adelaide University Medal for overall academic and clinical excellence over the five-year degree. Upon graduation, Dr McConnell spent two years working in private practice in Mount Gambier, South Australia, before moving to Sydney to complete her three-year specialist training (Doctor of Clinical Dentistry) in Orthodontics. She graduated with a high distinction average, and was awarded the Australian Society of Orthodontists NSW Clinical Day post-graduate prize for the best-treated clinical case. She also received membership by examination with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, and Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.   Dr McConnell is a member of many professional associations including the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the Australian Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the European Orthodontic Society, and the World Federation of Orthodontists.  She is also a certified member of the Australian Orthodontic Board.   Away from the clinic, Dr McConnell enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends and playing the violin. She has a keen interest in a wide array of sports, in particular competitive tennis and long-distance running.
